Book Review: Yoga Sparks

Yoga Sparks book cover
Yoga Sparks: 108 Easy Practices for Stress Relief in a Minute or Less is a book by Carol Krucoff E-RYT who offers practical advice and insight for our modern busy world.

Although many of us may attend yoga classes, just how many of us do yoga every day, or any exercise every day? Our frequent excuse is that we don’t have the time. We are pulled between our work and family commitments as well as our social lives. We scarcely have time to eat well, much less devote ourselves to a lengthy daily exercise routine.

This book offers a solution as well as guides us to make yoga a part of our daily lives. Instead of complicated and time consuming routines, the book offers 108 simple, quick and easy yoga exercises that we can make a part of every day. There are routines for working at a desk, waiting in line at the store, simple breathing techniques all possible in just a minute or two. Instead of waiting to make time for yoga we can learn to make all of our time a possible yoga time.

Under the heading of Posture, Breathing, Mediation and Principle step by step instructions are offered for Anywhere, Around the House, At Work, On the Go and Practices with others. There is even a segment on Pet Poses so you can get your canine or feline companions involved (sorry, there didn’t seem to be a section for reptiles).

All in all this is a worthy book with a lot of great ideas that can spark your creativity and help to make yoga more a part of your life instead of a departure from your regular life. It would make a great gift for a beginning yogi or those in recuperation and held back from their regular exercises. Check out all the reviews on Amazon.
